Let’s just ignore my umm 4000 year disappearance and just talk about the cutest movie to hit the interwebs. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before! Watched it you guys and I only have one word; Loved it! That was two but gah! I just finished watching it and had to spew immediately! You guys it was the cutest, most almost perfect adaptation of the best high-school romance novel ever! I will bite you if you disagree.
Y’all amma assume we’ve all watched it (umm Netflix = air) so I wanna hear everyone’s thoughts because I really really liked it. One thing was so clear to me as I watched thing and that was that the movie has the spirit of the book, if that makes sense. This movie was so cute it was like watching a unicorn poop out rainbows.
T.A.T.B.I.L.B. is such a faithful adaptation… but come on, it’s Netflix so how crazy a direction could they have steered it, plus it’s T.A.T.B.I.L.B. where else could this story have gone except down the same path. Right?
Ok can we pause! I literally just finished watching the movie and ugh all I can think about is the deliciousness of those boys. Oof the guy that plays Peter K. daaaaaamn. (Babe, if you’re reading this…sorry!)
Okay okay, cute boys aside this movie was weirdly relatable to me in a way the book wasn’t. You know how teen movies directed/written by adults can sometimes be super cringy, this one wasn’t! I really saw myself in all these movie characters; How I would rather jump off a cliff that face my problems, Peter K’s ready selfie face, Lara Jean’s kick ass style (haha who I’m I kidding), crazy ex drama (damn). Ooooo okay but if I had to pick… probably the most relatable thing about this movie was when Lara Jean’s choker was on backwards. This is like the most annoying thing in the world to me, why can’t chokers just stay on the way they’re supposed to!!
This movie in one sentence: Relationships can be toxic, girls can be bitches and love sometimes sucks.
There is one teeny tiny thing that irked me, and I don’t want to be that person, I wish I was pretentious and be all “I don’t see color” but uuhhhhhh why was Lara Jean the only half-Asian in her half half-Asian family? OK lets just agree that genetics happened (see I can be reasonable). You can tell I read the book because I’m bitchin’ about this lol
That Peter K.though, deeeeyyyuuuummm!
