Life Lessons in Books

what-books-taught-me1

Life Lessons from Books is a weekly meme created by moi. The meme is intended to be a satirical take on the life lessons books are actually teaching us. I hope that makes sense. (If you’re new here just scroll down and you’ll get it!)

This week’s life lesson is:

LESSON #3

Life Lessons from Books

Life Lessons from Books is a little feature I started last week on my blog. I created it because I wanted something fun and light to get me out of my blogging slump. The goal of this meme is to list a lesson that a book taught you in a single sentence. Last week’s lesson can be found hereI know I’m probably making this sound super serious but it’s just a funny little feature. This week’s bookish life lesson:

LESSON #2

Marriage will (at best) drive you to insanity and (at worst) make you murder someone.

Book That Taught Me This?

GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn and THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN by Paula Hawkins.

*Lessons from Books will appear on my blog every Tuesday.

If you want to take part in this little meme go for it or comment below about any funny lessons you picked up from books!

Life Lessons in Y.A.

Hi everybody!

So yesterday I finished reading Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (review-coming-soon) and ever since then I had the silly bright idea to create this new meme on my blog! The whole point of this meme is to list a ‘lesson’ that a Y.A. book taught me. I’m probably not making much sense so it would be easier if I just showed you guys instead:

Lesson #1:

Ladies when a guy says he’s ready to settle down with you, someone is going to die.

Book That Taught Me This?

CROOKED KINGOM by Leigh Bardugo and CROWN OF MIDNIGHT by Sarah J. Maas. #NoSpoilers but if you’ve read these books you know what I’m taking about 😉😉

So I’ll be doing this every Tuesday and I hope you guys think it’s funny! If you’ve noticed my absence I hit the biggest blogging slump and nothing makes sense anymore but I’m slowly crawling out of the dark abyss that is Bachelor in Paradise so more blog posts to come!

Synopsis:

I am Henrietta Howel.
The first female sorcerer in hundreds of years.
The prophesied one.
Or am I?

Henrietta Howel can burst into flames.
Forced to reveal her power to save a friend, she’s shocked when instead of being executed, she’s invited to train as one of Her Majesty’s royal sorcerers.

Thrust into the glamour of Victorian London, Henrietta is declared the chosen one, the girl who will defeat the Ancients, bloodthirsty demons terrorizing humanity. She also meets her fellow sorcerer trainees, handsome young men eager to test her power and her heart. One will challenge her. One will fight for her. One will betray her.

But Henrietta Howel is not the chosen one.
As she plays a dangerous game of deception, she discovers that the sorcerers have their own secrets to protect. With battle looming, what does it mean to not be the one? And how much will she risk to save the city—and the one she loves?

Exhilarating and gripping, Jessica Cluess’s spellbinding fantasy introduces a powerful, unforgettably heroine, and a world filled with magic, romance, and betrayal. Hand to fans of Libba Bray, Sarah J. Maas, and Cassandra Clare.
