#T5W: Fandoms I’m No Longer a Part of…

top

118368Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes. Topics are set for every week so to join in on the fun just check out the memes goodreads group.

*Before I begin I wanted to thank all of you guys who kept reading and liking and commenting even though I was markedly absent here. I’d like to say I’m back to blogging for good now but life is pretty busy at the moment and I’m finding it difficult to juggle all that and this blog (but that won’t stop me from trying).

Anyway so, this week’s topic is Fandoms You’re No Longer a Part Of. Pretty self explanatory right? (These are fandoms you used to be super invested in, and now are no longer a part of.) This post will be a little different because I won’t be listing just books…

1. The Twilight Fandom

I think this one is probably going to be on everyone’s list. I mean, say what you will about Twilight now, you still can’t deny the Twilight Fandom was one of the best to be a part of.

2. The Pirates of the Caribbean Fandom

You guys, I used to be obsessed with Captain Jack Sparrow. I had POTC bag packs and posters, it was crazy. I think I left this fandom after On Stranger Tides (the movie was just such a disappointment). And did you hear? Dead Men Tell No Tales was a big bust at the box office so I’m definitely not going to be seeing it…

3. The High School Musical Fandom

High School Musical Zac Efron was every pre-teen girls idea of perfection… I mean the sweepy hair, the dreamy eyes; it’s no wonder I was obsessed (the catchy, dancy musical numbers didn’t help either). There was a point when my entire life revolved around learning all the choreography and lyrics to the songs lol it was so embarrassing!

4. The One Direction Fandom

1D splitting up put an end to whatever lingering connection I might have felt for this fandom. But ah man  I remember singing “That’s What Makes You Beautiful.” every freaking day.

5. The Vampire Diaries Fandom

Team Delena or Stelena… that was the was the biggest ship battle I’ve ever been a part of (preceded only by Bedward (lol) and Jella). I remember back in the day when Vampire Diaries was in its first season and every thursdays (I think) a new episode would drop at 9PM and come rain, come hellfire nothing could stop me from being in front of that television at that time. Lol (ps: I was totally team Delena from the start… everyone loves a bad boy)

Thanks for reading guys!

      1. Yes! I devoured the first season and I follow it, maybe not weekly like I used to but I still follow it. Well I haven’t begun with the current season yet, but I plan on binge watching it soon!! 😋

    1. It’s kinda sad that fandoms die so quickly these days, I wish all of them could be like the Potter/Star Wars/Lord of the Rings fandoms that just keep evolving with time

  2. It kind of amuses me that the newest Pirates movie didn’t do so good. I’m still not even sure why they decided to try another after so long! lol

    1. I know right! Because the previous one was also a flop so I don’t know why the keep trying especially with the Jonny Depp rumors flying about

    1. I’m actually debating going to see it because a lot of people are saying it’s actually quite good. As for Stranger Tides; firstly no Orlando Bloom 😪 lol but otherwise I felt it was just boring

      1. I kinda see what you mean. Orlando Bloom is in the newest movie!

I liked it, and it had a slightly different feel, but not one I minded. The jokes were a little different, and obviously this is, like, ten years later or something like that, so it’s more about Jack regaining his position as Captain.

Overall, yes, different from some of the other movies, but not in a bad way. Definitly better than the last one.
