Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Thoughts on Tomes. Topics are set for every week so to join in on the fun just check out our goodreads group. This week’s topic is Books You Want to Finally Read in 2017.
These are the books I meant to read in the previous years but new, shinnier books kept coming out. Sigh if only humans had the ability to read 145 books at once. So today I dug into the bottomless depth that is my TBR and pulled out these books. They are the books I regret not reading the most and without further ado:
1. The Name of the Wind (King Killer Chronicles #1) by Patrick Rothfuss
This is a book I haven’t heard a single negative thing about. I really want to start sampling more epic fantasy so this is an obvious choice. Fans of Harry Potter rave about this book because its is about magic in a school setting. I’m definitely sold.
2. The Archived (The Archived #1) by Victoria Schwab
Dead bodies and deadly secrets! So exciting. This is one of the only Victoria Schwab books I haven’t read even though I’ve been meaning to for the longest time.
3. Outlander (Outlander #1) by Diana Gabaldon
We all know what this one is about! Time travel and sexy Scotsmen ;);) I’m ashamed to say I’m halfway through S2 of the Tv show but haven’t lifted a finger to read a single page of this book. Next year soon as I can I’m tackle this mammoth of a book.
4. Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George R. R. Martin
Oh gosh, this one is even more embarrassing. What has it been now? 6 Seasons? Every time I go into a bookstore I can practically hear the voices of the books saying “What are you doing May? Why haven’t you read is yet?” and I scream “I’m sorry!” and run away. Just look at it this way, 5 books out (all 600+ pages) and 2 more on the way; my lazy brain just can’t. (lol)
5. Golden Son (Red Rising #2) by Pierce Brown
Any book set on Mars is going to be epic and this books prequel is gloriously stabby. After reading and loving Red Rising I kept meaning to read this but kept pushing it back. Hopefully 2017 is the year I’ll tackle it!
That’s it! What books on your tbr have you been planning to read in 2017?
