Judging the New King’s Cage (Red Queen #3) Cover.

Okay we finally have a cover and a title people! Yep King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard. Here’s the new cover:

Kings Cage hmmm could that be referring to how Glass Sword ended – you know, that Maven and Mare scene (darn that cliff-hanger!) To be honest I wasn’t a big fan of Glass Sword, I loved loved Red Queen but Glass Sword just fell flat for me (I mean anyone can betray anyone, I get what Victoria Aveyard was trying to put across with PTSD and everything but Mare was just really annoying in this book.) Anyway back to the cover! I think I like this one better than the previous two, the new (darker) shade of blue is awesome. (the crown is prettier too!).

What do you guys think of this new cover? The crown doesn’t look as feminine as the previous two (in my opinion) so could that mean we get a Cal point of view or other male point of views together with Mare’s?! What do you guys think?

Anyway, I’m willing to give King’s Cage a chance when it comes out next year because Glass Sword could have just been another case of the dreaded second book syndrome. Is anyone else also excited for the King’s Cage release next February?

  1. I’m like you, I was so disappointed by Glass Sword. Although I will say, i am liking how the covers are gradually getting darker. It matches the trend in the story-lines…if that makes since. I am just really hoping King’s Cage feels more like Red Queen. Love this post 🙂 x
