T5W #5: My Favorite Character Names

Hey bookworms!

Top 5 Wednesday is a meme that was created by Lainey @ Gingerreadslainey on YouTube. To join in on the fun just check out the goodreads group! New topics are chosen every week and this weeks topic is Favorite Character Names. This weeks top 5 I’ll be listing my favorite names from least to best. This won’t be a long post because I love these names plain and simple; no special reason why – they’re just really cool, I hope you guys think so too!:

5. Etta – Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

4. Morrigan – A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

3. Aza Ray – Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley

2. Jaqen H’ghar (a man has no name!!!) – Game of Throne by George R. R. Martin

1. Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains…. yada yada yada we know the rest but totally epic name, I’m I right!! –  Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

Sorry I added two GoT names but that TV show/book series has some pretty cool names and I just couldn’t pick between the two. I won’t lie to you I definitely thought about naming my future child Daenerys at one point in my life (but don’t worry I realized how crazy that idea was) lol!

Anyway if you do T5W’s too let me know so we can fan girl over amazing character names! Thanks for reading!

  1. Great list! Daenerys was on mine too. I think it’s the best name in the series- it just sounds powerful and awesome, even though I don’t like Daenerys much as a character, ha.

      1. Hahaha, I get that a lot. But in the larger context of the series, she’s pretty useless. She hasn’t done much. The cities she took over are in ruins, and she has no knowledge of politics in Westeros, so there’s no way she’ll sit the Throne. I bet she’ll end up dead or something.

      2. I disagree, she might seem useless now but I feel like she’ll play a bigger part in the story when she finally reaches Westeros. Like maybe her dragons will help in the upcoming battle with the white walkers. 😕

      3. Yes, I’m sure her dragons will play a role in the war since their fire is lethal to White Walkers. But I do not see her ruling the Seven Kingdoms. I don’t think she’s competent enough to rule an area as crazy and twisted as Westeros. As of this moment, Tyrion is the best candidate for the throne despite not having dragons or height LOL. He has brains and knows how the place works. Sansa seems to be catching on, too.

Many people say Jon Snow will rule, and as much as I love him, I don’t see that happening either. But that’s just MY vision. 2 more books to go – a lot can change!

      4. Now that I really think about it, I realise she could barely control Meereen or her dragons so yeah, you’re right, I don’t think she is cunning enough to rule Westeros maybe Tyrion will be the last one standing like you said but I have a feeling we’ll end up being very shocked by the person sitting on that throne in the end.
