Another week, another T5W! Here I am with another T5W guys this weeks topic was a little challenging but I’m really excited to show you guys the Characters I’ve spent forever defending. Top 5 Wednesday is a meme created by Lainey @ gingerreadslainey. To join in on the fun check out the goodreads group.
1. Tamlin: A Court of Mist and Fury
I know this book came out only a few weeks ago (don’t worry I won’t spoil anything) but after ACOMAF everyone is a little mad at Tamlin and I’m not one of those people. After everything that happened in the previous book his actions were pretty understandable in my eyes so I don’t know why everyone was tripping. All his actions were put under a microscope and cross-examined, it just wasn’t fair!
2. Harry Potter: The Harry Potter Series
I bet you’re like What?! Everyone loves Harry Potter! Why on earth would I need to defend him?! Well this is more of an IRL problem. I grew up in a very Christian community and I’ve spent a very long time defending my love of H.P. because everyone was convinced Harry Potter promotes the occult/was written by the devil himself (I mean honestly!) I’m Christian and I do get were all these people are coming from but Harry Potter is a character that shattered the boundaries of my imagination and showed me anything was possible, I always defend him for that. The books themselves shows us that good over evil always wins, love conquers all and all that jazz how could it possibly be evil.
3. Ethan: Beautiful Creatures
I know a lot of people didn’t like this book, especially this character [Ethan] but I loved this book and I especially loved Ethan. I love how the protagonist was shoved into this magical world without any powers of his own, it was a nice twist to what would have otherwise been an ordinary book, I can’t believe no one else can see this!
4. Holland: A Darker Shade of Magic
I know everyone hates Holland in the Shades of Magic series but come on guys, being held against your will by a pair of psycho magicians can do things to a person. I definitely cut him a lot of slack, I don’t think its his fault he turned out the was he did.
5. Jason Grace: The Lost Hero
A lot of people refuse to give Jason a chance because of the fear that he won’t be as good as Percy Jackson. On the off chance they do give him a chance a lot of people still think he isn’t as great as Percy, I’m one of those people. Even though Jason will always come second to Percy in my eyes, he’s still a pretty darn good protagonist and for that reason I’ll defend him from any and all haters!
