A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it… or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

A Court of Mist and Fury came out a few weeks ago so I decided to re-read ACOTAR for when I finally get it! I’m so excited to share my feels with you guys!

So lets get to it; When I first read this book last year, it became one of my favorite books of the year and also one of my favorite books ever. After re-reading it I discovered I still love it as much as I did when I first read it – maybe even more. This is just such an amazing story, one of the best fairytale retelling’s out there.

I want to talk about the beautiful world building; I never found myself wondering what was going on, it was so easy to follow especially because of what its based on (I loved the original Beauty and the Beast story/concept). The writing was easy and flowed beautifully (in my opinion).

This was such an amazing Beauty and the Beast retelling –  you can catch little similarities between the original story and this one but otherwise this was its own beautiful piece of work. I’m going to say beautiful a lot because that’s what this was for me.

That ending! After all the action and heartache, I’m dying to find out what happens next! I ship Tamlin and Feyre so hard but everyone keeps hinting at something else happening in the next book and it’ll break my heart. Tam + Feyre forever!

Lucien, Tamlin, Feyre and every other character – good or bad, I fell in love with. I loved all these troubled characters especially how they developed as the story progressed. I’m such a sucker for strong female protagonists. Ohh, I actually forgot about how sexy some of the scenes in this book got (phew I’m still fanning my face)! I’m actually starting worry about my unhealthy obsession with Tamlin now.

OK so even though I’ve never read the Throne of Glass series (gasp! I know) I’ve heard really good things about it and I plan reading it soon now simply because this book blew me away and I gotta have more of S.J. Maas.

Overall this is just such an amazing book, everyone and I mean everyone should read this!!

  1. This is one of my favourite series ever, I’m so glad you love it too! I thought I shipped Feyre and Tamlin fully too, but trust me, the thing everyone keeps hinting to makes sense. It hurts, but makes sense. But the second book is just as good! 😀
