Fearing that the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on the Man of Steel, while the world wrestles with what kind of hero it really needs.

Warning: This post contains major SPOILERS so if you haven’t watched the movie you probably shouldn’t read this! Seriously, leave…now!

OK so before I start I just want to say that I know I don’t normally do movie reviews but I just had to talk about this one!

It’s been a few weeks since this movie came out and I didn’t intend on seeing it at all because of all the bad reviews but this afternoon I decided what the heck and went ahead and saw it. Because of all the negative reviews I went in with really low expectations and ended up being pleasantly surprised because I really enjoyed the movie (All 151 mins of it).

Firstly I’m a huge Superman fan, (not so much Batman though) so I didn’t know how this would play out but it was unbelievably epic especially after Wonderwoman showed up. I especially loved the glimpses of some of my other favorite DC characters like The Flash and Aqua Man. I know those appearances are building up to the Justice League movie in 2017 and The Flash and Aquaman in 2018, I can’t wait (although I’m kinda nervous about Ezra Miller playing The Flash)!

So lets talk about what the first part of the movie was building up to – Batman vs Superman. I keep thinking about Batman’s knightmares (see what i did there) and how during the movie I thought they were totally unnecessary but apparently they’re building up to something big in the next movie (Justice League).

Moving on to the big showdown between Batman and Superman, it was kinda disappointing how it all ended, I mean what are the chances of both their mothers being named Martha (or whatever her name was).

Ohh one thing that really pisses me off in superhero movies is when heroes somehow miraculously survive things-that-should-kill-them like Batman and the bomb in The Dark Night Rises. I mean I was totally devastated when Superman died, like I was totally convinced this would be the one time the superhero actually dies only to see the ending (the whole levitating dirt thing). I know he somehow comes back to life because of the comics but now that I think about it, it was pretty stupid of me to think they would kill off freaking Superman.

Another thing I wanted to talk about was how awesome Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor) was in this, he was such a good villain, he’s character was the perfect mix of crazy and brilliant.

I definitely see more really good things coming from this whole DC Extended Universe franchise… Thanks for reading my review, I would probably rate this movie an 8/10.

  1. I’m pretty sure Lex Luther was my favourite part of that movie.

There were a few things that made me roll my eyes, the ones you mentioned, & how Superman loses his powers almost instantly when around Kryptonite EXCEPT FOR WHEN HE NEEDS TO FLY INTO THE MONSTER TO DESTROY IT. I hate it when movies do that. It makes no sense. WHY?!??

I’m excited for the Wonder Woman & Justice League movies now. I liked BVS a lot more than I thought I would.
