A library apprentice, a sorcerer prince, and an unbreakable magic bond…
The Solaris Empire is one conquest away from uniting the continent, and the rare elemental magic sleeping in seventeen-year-old library apprentice Vhalla Yarl could shift the tides of war.
Vhalla has always been taught to fear the Tower of Sorcerers, a mysterious magic society, and has been happy in her quiet world of books. But after she unknowingly saves the life of one of the most powerful sorcerers of them all—the Crown Prince Aldrik—she finds herself enticed into his world. Now she must decide her future: Embrace her sorcery and leave the life she’s known, or eradicate her magic and remain as she’s always been. And with powerful forces lurking in the shadows, Vhalla’s indecision could cost her more than she ever imagined.
Lemme just start by saying this book was such a perfect mix of things I love; action, political intrigue, magic, romance and princes!
I totally loved this book but the reason I didn’t give it a 5 out of 5 star rating was because it kinda dragged in places but don’t let that put you off, when it picked up it was utterly epic!
Reading about Vhalla struggle to accept what she was becoming and grow as a character while making friends and enemies and falling in love was amazing! (Speaking of love) *mini spoiler alert* I normally don’t like love triangles but I’m willing to let the one in this story go because I ended up really liking this book in spite of all the unessesary drama.
Lets move to the ending; endings make or break how much I love a book because they’re what stick with me the most after I’m done with a book and so the fact that Air Awakens has such an intense action packed ending totally made me love this book all the more.
This book is so much more than I was able to explain and I keep wondering why it hasn’t gotten more hype! It’s such an amazing fantasy story.
If you like fantasy/magic/elemental control books this is for you, (sort of like a mix between Avatar: The Last Airbender and Poison Study)
