So I stumbled across this book tag on booktube and got really excited about the idea of doing it, I know its kinda old but hey better late than never right. You can watch the original video here.
A Popular Book or series that you didn’t like:
Don’t hate me but a popular book series I’ve never liked is The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, I can never get past the first book, I keep trying but it just doesn’t do it for me.
Another popular book/series I didn’t like was The Raven Cycle series, I mean the first book was amazing but the second book just killed the whole series, I just can’t seem to get past the second book!
A book/series you love but everyone seems to hate:
I was really shocked that people didn’t really like MockingJay by Suzanne Collins, this was a really good book in my opinion, I’ve reread it so many times you have no idea.
A love triangle where the main character ended up with the wrong person, or, an OTP you don’t like:
Till this day, the fact that Bella ended up with Edward burns my soul. I was Team Jacob all the way. It really does break my heart, seeing what could have been, no what should have been.
A popular genre you hardly reach for:
That would be historical fiction and mystery, but I’m slowly starting to read historical fiction books and they are not as bad as I thought they would be. I have The Bronze Horseman to thank for that, I’ve only read a few pages but already I’m hooked.
A popular character you do not like:
I really did not like the character Isla from Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. First Isla? Really?
Second I just don’t know what about her annoyed the hell out of me, I really just did not like her as a character.
A popular author you can’t seem to get into:
Again I will mention Cassandra Clare, she just does not do it for me. I’ve never been able to read any of her works from start to finish, and trust me I’ve tried.
Popular trope you’re tired of seeing:
I’m so sick and tired of the whole clumsy/shy thing in female characters, like I get it makes for good character development but enough already.
I also really hate the I-can’t-be-in-love-with-you-because-someone-else-is thing, like be with whomever you effing want to be with.
A popular series that you have no interest in reading:
I’ll give every series a chance so aside from The Mortal Instruments and The Raven Cycle, I’m open to any and all series.
The saying goes “The book is always better than the movie”, but what movie or T.V. show adaptation do you prefer more than the book?:
Its very rare that a movie/t.v surpasses a book but I would have to say The Maze Runner movie was amazing, better than the book but not by much.
